Anthony Rizzo saved the Cubs with a three-run home run against the Reds with two outs in the ninth inning. The game went into extra innings, where Chicago ultimately won 6-5 in 11 innings.
Tigers ace Justin Verlander turned in his second straight abysmal performance. This time, he allowed four earned runs off three hits and six walks in a 6-3 loss to the Twins. Verlander (1-2) now has a 6.04 ERA this season.
